When gods intervene in pointless wars and the other side absolutely dwarfs what might your country can muster, the people need a hero. A one-man army imbued with divine powers to take on armies of men on their own. However, this massive strength will always come at a cost. These heroes of war would know glory, but also a short life and a tragic death of a close ally on their hands in exchange for their fame. They would know nothing but rage and death before their times as soldiers ended, but they’d be celebrated and remembered by their people for centuries to come.
